Interim Pastor – David Fischer

I was born and raised in Illinois.  My parents both served as teachers for the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod which I was baptized into at three months and attended till I left home.  My family moved to Northern Virginia my senior year of high school where I was involved in the youth group at McClean Bible Church.  Immediately after graduation, I joined the Marine Corps and served for 5 years.  While serving in the Marines, I attened the base chapel and a charasmatic, non-denominational church in Yuma, Arizona as well as a full gospel service at the base chapel in Japan.  During my time at MCAS Yuma, I prayed to receive Christ through the Navigators and was re-baptized in the Colorado River by my mentor John Voss in 1994 just before returning to Virginia.  After the Marines I worked at the State Dept. for a year and attended Immanuel Bible Church in Springfield, Virginia.  I started college the following year at Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan before transfering to Mary Washington College in Fredericksburg, Virginia where I attended Grace Evangelical Presbyterian Church and met my future bride Rhonda.  After graduation in 2000, I spent 3 years at Reformed Theological Seminary in Charlotte, North Carolina, before returning to Fredericksburg, Virginia and getting married.  I served as the assistant pastor of Grace EPC till it closed at the end of 2003.  We subsequently attended Spotsylvania Presbyterian Church (USA) where we did college and career ministry and then Christ Covenant EPC where I served as worship leader.  We are very excited about God’s plans for us at NLCC and look forward to seeing God’s hand at work in this wonderful body.  We currently live in Spotsylvania County with our 2 dogs, cat and horse.
