Admonishment

• What are some of the steps we should take before approaching someone when it comes to admonishment

  • Show Humility, Respect, and Prayerfulness - The Lord's servant must not quarrel; instead, he must be kind, able to teach, patient when wronged, with gentleness correcting those who are in opposition, in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth and that they will come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will 2 Timothy 2:24-26
    • be kind
    • be gentle
    • be prayerful
  • Approach according to the steps in Matthew 18:15-17
    • Between you and your brother
      • If he accepts…no more needs to be said
    • Reapproach with two more brothers as witnesses
      • If he accepts… no more needs to be said
    • Take him to the church (elders)
      • If he accepts … no more needs said
      • If he still does not accept, he is to be treated as an unbeliever
